How schlott gruppe AG came into being

 

  • 1947. schlott is founded in Freudenstadt by Friedrich Schlott as a letterpress printing works. Three years later, the first rotary sheet-fed gravure printing press starts up.

  • 1992. In a management buy-out, Schlott Tiefdruck KG is transformed into a GmbH.

  • 1996. schlott takes over Klambt-Druck GmbH in Landau. The business' name is changed in wwk druck GmbH.

  • 1997. schlott becomes a plc (AG) and is the first gravure printing works in Germany to be quoted on the stock market.

  • 2000. schlott AG acquires the Nuremberg-based Sebaldus Group. The company changes its name to schlott sebaldus AG.

  • 2001. This year is marked by integration and focusing on the core business area.

  • 2002. A further expansion step is taken in the autumn with the acquisition of the Hamburg-based Broschek Group.

  • 2003. schlott sebaldus AG changes its name to schlott gruppe AG. A name that communicates the long term intention to keep expanding and at the same time underlines the continuity in the development of the company.

  • 2006. schlott gruppe becomes even more international. In acquiring Dutch-based gravure printing plant biegelaar b.v., schlott gruppe is able to achieve better coverage of Northern and Western Europe and offer a more balanced product and country portfolio. With a focus on postpress activities, the takeover of the czech reus s.r.o. provides the schlott gruppe with a launch pad for its entry into the Eastern European print market.

  • 2007. Trade sale of division "direct marketing" to Österreichische Post.

  • 2008. sale of the sheet-fed offset subsidiary “sachsendruck” to Offizin Andersen Nexö (OAN) of Leipzig.
