How schlott gruppe AG came into being

1947. schlott is founded in Freudenstadt by Friedrich Schlott as a letterpress printing works. Three years later, the first rotary sheet-fed gravure printing press starts up.

1992. In a management buy-out, Schlott Tiefdruck KG is transformed into a GmbH.

1996. schlott takes over Klambt-Druck GmbH in Landau. The business' name is changed in wwk druck GmbH.

1997. schlott becomes a plc (AG) and is the first gravure printing works in Germany to be quoted on the stock market.

2000. schlott AG acquires the Nuremberg-based Sebaldus Group. The company changes its name to schlott sebaldus AG.

2001. This year is marked by integration and focusing on the core business area.

2002. A further expansion step is taken in the autumn with the acquisition of the Hamburg-based Broschek Group.

2003. schlott sebaldus AG changes its name to schlott gruppe AG. A name that communicates the long term intention to keep expanding and at the same time underlines the continuity in the development of the company.

2006. schlott gruppe becomes even more international. In acquiring Dutch-based gravure printing plant biegelaar b.v., schlott gruppe is able to achieve better coverage of Northern and Western Europe and offer a more balanced product and country portfolio. With a focus on postpress activities, the takeover of the czech reus s.r.o. provides the schlott gruppe with a launch pad for its entry into the Eastern European print market.

2007. Trade sale of division "direct marketing" to Österreichische Post.

2008. sale of the sheet-fed offset subsidiary “sachsendruck” to Offizin Andersen Nexö (OAN) of Leipzig.
