Freudenstadt/Hamburg, 23 February 2010. Media logistics specialist schlott logistik GmbH, a subsidiary of schlott gruppe AG, has established a solid market position since its inception in July 2009.
schlott logistik offers its range of logistical services to companies operating within the publishing and mail-order industries as well as enterprises engaged in advertising. In addition to coordinating and handling freight deliveries, schlott logistik also oversees the supply of products during the various stages of the value chain (production-related freight forwarding).
In future, the company will also assume responsibility for internal logistics within the schlott group, a task previously performed in part by external service providers. Since 1 January 2010, for instance, schlott logistik has been managing the paper stock levels of gravure printer broschek, Hamburg, on a three-shift basis. Among the tasks covered by the logistics specialist are paper scheduling, storage and intracompany delivery to the production systems. By pooling these activities, the printing company is able to optimise its workflow and streamline both its inventory management and transport costs.
