Freudenstadt, April 20, 2006. schlott gruppe extends its production activities in the Czech Republic and further enhances its service portfolio within the area of bindery. For this purpose, schlott gruppe has acquired Reus s.r.o., Pilsen, as well as its sales companies AIB Industrie-Buchbinderei GmbH and Oldenbourg Taschenbuch GmbH, Kirchheim, from the Oldenbourg Group Kirchheim. The transaction will be effective as of May 1, 2006. It is subject to the approval of the supervisory board of schlott gruppe.
The parties involved in the transaction have agreed not to disclose details of the purchase price. The company in question recently posted annual revenues towards the lower end of the double-digit million range. The transaction will have no material impact on consolidated forecasts of schlott gruppe for the current financial year.The newly acquired plant in Pilsen, which offers considerable scope for expansion, will allow schlott gruppe to unlock further growth potential. In acquiring the company, schlott gruppe continues to pursue its incisive strategy of building specialist locations in order to leverage efficiency gains.
Reus has established strong customer relations within the European mail-order industry as well as among European advertisers – the target markets of schlott gruppe. These accounts will remain with Reus and are to be extended further by schlott gruppe in the future.
