schlott gruppe AG’s 2002/2003 annual report entitled „Werte.“ has been winning medals at a series of competition - in London, the British Design and Art Directors Association (D&AD) awarded a Silver Nomination to the company’s annual report with its book-form layout. The „D&AD Awards” is considered one of the most prestigious advertising and design competitions worldwide. Of the total number of 22,000 entries sent in, a mere 140 actually won prizes. The book went one better at the world’s biggest competition for annual reports, the „International ARC Awards” in New York, and won gold. At the „Communication Arts“ event in San Francisco, the most important international competition in the field of graphic design, „Werte.“ numbered among the around 200 projects from in excess of 20,000 entries to qualify for inclusion in the „Design Annual 45“. And at the New York-based „Midas Awards 2004 – the best in financial services communication“, the annual report performed impressively and reached the final stage of the competition. At the German competitions, the annual report was similarly well-received by the respective juries – both the „If Communication Design Award 2004“ with its highly desirable If label and the „red dot award: communication design 2004“ with its red dot: best of the best award – which this year only went to 31 of the in all 2,936 entries sent in – were testimony to the annual report’s design quality. The PAGE magazine rates the „red dot award“ and the „If Communication Design Award“ among the top ten international design prizes.
The report won two further prizes awarded by the Bonn Communication Association: „Bronze“ at „BoB Best of Business-To-Business Awards“ and a medal at the „Berliner Type – Die besten Druckschriften 2004“ (Berlin Type – The Best Print Products 2004) event.
schlott gruppe AG’s annual report entitled „Werte.“ ties into the company’s growth strategy and its ideals in terms of design and content. These are after all the foundations on which the successful cooperation with customers and staff is based. For the design of this schlott gruppe „Werte-Buch“ (Book of Values), the form and fine typography of a high-quality volume bound in half-cloth were chosen. Inside the book, photographs of everyday objects underline the role the company’s corporate values „cosmopolitan“, „transparent“, „honest“, „personal“, „individual“ und „committed“ play in its daily work. The picture of a pair of worn football boots thus symbolises the commitment prevailing in the company. The quote printed in connection with it runs: „Team work means – everybody working so that one can score and all can move forward.“
